On Thursday, April 22, the Government of Canada announced that it would be banning flights from India and Pakistan for 30 days in response to surging case counts in the region and the spread of a new variant of concern. The ban comes into effect at 11:30 PM on April 22 and affects all commercial and private passenger flights. Passengers who depart from India or Pakistan but arrive in Canada via another country will still need to show a negative COVID-19 test from their last point of departure before being allowed to enter Canada.
