According to a report by CBC, the federal government plans on extending the Canada-US land border closure until October 21, 2020. As such, the border will remain closed to non-essential (discretionary or optional) travel for at least another month.
Canadians citizens and Permanent Residents may currently enter Canada, provided that they adhere to all entry screening measures and follow quarantine procedures, unless they fall under an exemption. This means that they must provide their contact information to a CBSA Officer upon entry and a plan for how they will self-isolate for 14 days.
