On December 9, 2019, the Government of Canada announced that the International Experience Canada (IEC) program has opened for the 2020 season. This program is geared towards young people who wish to travel and work in Canada. Applicants must be citizens of a country or territory that have an agreement with Canada that allows them to apply for an IEC work permit OR use a Registered Organization (RO). ROs are youth service organizations that offer work and travel support, and most charge a fee for their services. There are three sub-categories under IEC which have their own pool of applicants: Working Holiday, Young Professionals, and International Co-op (Internship). The program an applicant chooses will depend on factors such as whether they are a student, whether they have a job arranged in Canada, and on how many employers they wish to work for during their stay. If you are interested in coming to Canada as a member of one of the IEC classes, please contact us to schedule a consultation. Annie Caplan Devika and John were excellent. They understood how this process would change my life and helped me get to the US. John was extremely kind and thorough. When my employer in the US ended up trying to take advantage of me, they helped me transfer my visa to a new employer and had so much empathy for my situation and now I have a job in California that makes me so happy while helping others. I am beyond grateful for their kindness and service. I will be using them for any changes to my status going forward.
