The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program has recently stated that they will be re-opening select streams within the Provincial Nomination Program in the coming months. As has been widely documented, Ontario closed many of their high volume provincial nomination streams to new applications early in 2016. This includes the Human Capital Priorities stream, a stream which if a nomination is granted helps support an applicant’s Permanent Residence application through the Express Entry system, which was closed to new applicants in February, 2016. Other provincial nomination streams which were closed include the Employer Pre-screen stream, the International Student – Masters Graduate stream and International Student – PhD Graduate Stream, all of which officially paused intake of new applications on May 9, 2016.

Ontario has stated that they will be receiving their allotment of available nominations for 2017 from the Federal Government in November 2016. As a result, Ontario expects to be able to open select provincial nomination streams in the coming months. For up-to-date information concerning when the programs will be re-opened to new applicants please visit Ontario’s website as this information will be updated when available:

Ontario has also indicated that they are looking to improve their nomination programs. The improvements are said to include moving towards an online application system as well as decreasing processing times. The effort to reduce processing times is particularly important as Ontario has struggled to assess applications within the 90 day period which they advertised.

Me and my wife turned to Borders Law Firm when I was trying to migrate to Canada as I am a UK citizen and my wife was born in Canada. They made the process really easy for us guiding us all the way. I am now a permanent resident in Canada thanks to Jenny and Devika. We would definitely recommend this firm to anyone looking to move to Canada you will not be disappointed!!

Associated with Borders Law Firm for 13+ years, I have nothing but the best things to say about their services. Devika and Andres are very knowledgeable and they treat you with respect and compassion. Working with Jenny, their Associate Lawyer during the most recent recent experience has further assured that the firm has the best people portraying their wealth of experience in all aspects of Canadian immigration law.

Andres and his team at Borders Law Firm really impressed everyone at Siller Helicopters. We came to Andres with a very complex case for work visas, with a time-sensitive and moving window. Andres was very responsive to all forms of communication which highly contributed to completing the work visa packets in a very short window of time. Their knowledge and attention to detail are impressive and made it a pleasure to work with Andres and his team. Our crews had no issues getting their work visas approved when they arrived in Canada. In fact, the Canadian officials complimented the visa packets they presented, stating they were the most professional and organized packets they had seen in a long time. Thanks to Andres and Borders Law Firm, Siller Helicopters was able to take part in the emergency restoration of power, to towns that were affected by this year's wildfires in Canada. Thank you again Borders Law Firm.
