On August 9, 2021, the Government of Canada announced the extension of the ban on direct flights from India until September 21, 2021. This ban concerns all direct commercial and private passengers flights to Canada from India.<\/p>\n
The extension of this ban means that the only option for travelling back to Canada from India involves transiting through a third-country. Such individuals will be required to complete a valid COVID-19 pre-departure test from the third-country (other than India) that they travel from. In the event of a positive COVID-19 test, travellers may be required to seek entry and stay in the third country for at least 14 days before being allowed to continue their journey to Canada. Travellers who have tested positive for COVID-19 must provide proof that this positive COVID-19 molecular test in the third-country was conducted between 14 and 90 days prior to their departure, instead of a negative COVID-19 molecular test.<\/p>\n
