According to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, job vacancies in Canada are currently at historic highs. In particular, Quebec, British Columbia, and Ontario have vacancy rates above 3% in the third quarter of 2019.
In these provinces and throughout Canada, there is a particular need for workers in the information and hospitality sectors. These include jobs such as data processing, telecommunications, and other information services, as well as food and beverage workers, restaurant and hotel managers, and other similar jobs.
This labour shortage is an opportunity for foreign workers to find their way to Canada, using their skills and training to fill vacancies which Canadians cannot.
