Andres Pelenur is a Founding Partner of Borders Law Firm. Mr. Pelenur is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Citizenship & Immigration Law. He is also an attorney-at-law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. His practice is centered on all aspects of Canadian immigration law, with extensive experience representing large multi-nationals with relocation and cross-border issues. He advises clients on Intra-Company transfers, NAFTA based permits, and Labour Market Impact Assessment applications, among others. He also advises clients on all permanent resident streams, including federal and provincial nominee programs, humanitarian and compassionate ground applications, as well as spousal and parental sponsorship applications. Mr. Pelenur represents clients before Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency, Employment and Social Development Canada, and Canadian consulates around the world.
Mr. Pelenur has been invited to speak as an expert panelist on immigration matters by the American Bar Association and the Canadian Hispanic Bar Association. He has also invited to a Parliamentary Roundtable discussion on immigration matters. He serves as a Primary Member of the Ontario Bar Association’s International Mobility Program working group and has written policy papers on behalf of the Canadian Bar Association, submitted to the Government of Canada.
Mr. Pelenur advocates on behalf of clients before the Immigration Appeal Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court of Canada. He has published articles on immigration in various media and is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese. Mr. Pelenur received a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Ontario Bar Association’s Citizenship and Immigration Law Section. From 2004 to 2015, Mr. Pelenur served as the Managing Partner of Borders Law Firm.
