As of July 24, 2015, the Opportunities Ontario: Provincial Nominee Program will be called the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (ONIP). There will be no changes to the program’s eligibility criteria or to the application process. Applications which were submitted under the old name will not be affected by the change. The Government of Ontario states that the name change was designed to “reflect the province’s increased role in selecting immigrants to Ontario, and a more robust program design”.
